The Cyclone winds of change are blowing in new and exciting developments for the athletic health care department.  Thanks to the support of the ISU Athletics Department administration, there will have been more changes and upgrades implemented in personnel, facilities, and services in an 18 month time frame than at all other times of ISU athletics history combined!  These changes have/will include:

  • Increasing and remodeling athletic health care centers in all ISU athletics facilities.
  • Increasing the number of certified/licensed athletic trainers from 4 in 1996 to the current 13.
  • Opening of the yet-to-be-named athletic health care center in the summer of 2012.  With the opening of this facility, ISU will have over 18,000 sq. ft of athletic health care centers open to serve ISU student-athletes.
  • State of the art digital/physical testing equipment for athletic injury rehabilitation, injury prevention, reconditioning, injury diagnosis, and concussion identification/management tools.

ISU has a long, distinguished, and proud history of delivering the best in athletic health care services.  The athletic health care staff has been considered innovators in the field of both athletic training services and athletic training education.  In an effort to continue to provide the best services, we are working to share ever-changing information related to athletic health care through electronic media.  The Athletic Health Care Update you are now reading will serve as a source of advances and information of many areas relating to athletic health care and sports performance.  This information will be easily shared with anyone via the web and social networking sites.  Information with quick links to this page can be shared via multiple social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter.  Short links of information will be regularly shared via Twitter.  You can follow us at @CycloneAT for links to all updated information. It is our hope that ISU student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and any other interested parties will be able to utilize this information for the betterment of their health, welfare, and performance.
